Steampunk City – A Vision of Gears, Smoke, and Boundless Imagination
In this illustration, I aimed to capture the essence of a bustling steampunk metropolis. The city stretches into dizzying heights, its towers and bridges blurring the line between sky and earth. Gears and mechanical structures define the architecture, while ships and airships conquer the skies, creating the impression of a living, breathing organism.
In the foreground stands a lone figure, gazing over the vast cityscape—a tribute to the spirit of adventure and ingenuity that permeates this world. Light and shadow, smoke and steam blend into an atmosphere that tells a story of both industrial might and artistic elegance.
Originally created for the rulebook of the steampunk role-playing game Wolsung, this piece gained special recognition in 2024 when it was awarded by the jury of the prestigious Infected by Art contest and published in Infected by Art – Volume 12.
