Social Media and Data Protection

On linestyle-artwork.de, we integrate various social media platforms through plug-ins (also known as widgets). When you activate social media functions, the data protection policies of the respective providers apply. Before enabling these functions, please review the providers’ privacy policies. Otherwise, when you click a social media link, data may be sent from your device directly to the provider—even if you do not have an account or are not logged in.

When clicking on a social media icon, providers such as Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube receive information that your browser accessed our site. This information, including your IP address, is sent directly to their servers, which may be outside the EU. If you are logged into a social media service, your visit to our website can be linked to your social media profile.

We only integrate social media plugins in a way that requires active user interaction (click-to-activate). No data is transmitted without user action.

What Data is Collected?

Even if you are not logged in, the following data may be collected:

  • IP address
  • Time of visit
  • URL of the accessed page
  • Location data (on mobile devices)
  • Device information (browser and operating system)
  • Previously visited pages (for advertising purposes)
  • Data from third parties (e.g., email addresses in recommendations)

Technologies Used:

  • Cookies: Store login data and may be used by third-party advertisers.
  • Log files: Data stored on providers’ servers.
  • Tracking scripts: Monitor user behavior.
  • Local storage: Temporary data storage.

How is Your Data Used?

Social media providers often share collected data with:

  • Service providers (e.g., for newsletters)
  • Authorities (if required by law)
  • New business owners (in case of acquisitions or insolvencies)

Tips for Protecting Your Data:

  • Log out of your social media accounts before clicking on social media links.
  • Use browser add-ons like NoScript to block tracking.
